Biomass wood fuel is one of the most reliable, sustainable and environmentally-friendly fuels available at present. It is a much cleaner process than that of traditional fossil fuels
Wood is a carbon-neutral fuel, the carbon dioxide it produces as it burns is absorbed by the new trees that have been planted to replace the tree felled for the fuel. As long as the wood is coming from managed forests, then the carbon is balanced. Fuel can also be produced from thinnings taken from woodlands and forests, wood recovered from the waste stream and from crops like short rotation coppice.
