About Ecochipp

Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI)

The Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) is a Government financial incentive put in place to encourage us to step away from traditional high-carbon fuel to carbon-lean or carbon-neutral alternatives. The RHI is the world’s first long-term financial support programme for renewable heat. The scheme pays participants that generate and use renewable heat energy for 20 years.

Ecochipp is a registered supplier on the Biomass Suppliers List (BSL). This means our fuel has been audited and complies with the RHI sustainability criteria. Buying and burning fuel supplied by a BSL member makes it easier for RHI participants to ensure their compliance with the scheme and therefore their RHI payments.

RHI tariff rates vary according to the type and size of the installed system. You can find the latest tariff rates on the Ofgem website.

Your heat output and therefore the RHI payments you generate will be only as good as the fuel you put in. The better the quality of fuel, the higher the kWh output. The higher the kWh output, the more RHI you’ll generate and the faster you’ll see a return on your investment.

Ecochipp’s fuel has been certified for its quality by Woodsure, the UK’s only wood fuel quality assurance scheme.
